What does AI mean in 2023?
AI, which stands for Artificial intelligence, refers to a computer program’s or machine’s capacity to carry out activities. These activities ordinarily need human intelligence, like learning, reasoning, and problem-solving.
It has applications in self-driving cars, speech recognition technology, and medical diagnosis systems. It incorporates a variety of outfields such robotics, machine learning, and natural language processing etc. What do you think?
Why can’t AI translate other languages into Khmer more correctly?
Khmer is a language which Cambodian people use to communicate. This language has been changed through time. Due to a variety of circumstances, AI translation into Khmer is challenging. It requires significant knowledge, skill, and experience.

Complexity of Sentence Structure
The Khmer language has a unique and complex writing system that uses 24 vowels and 33 consonants. Some of the consonants are piled on top of one another to create different sounds. Additionally, there are no spaces between the words. This lack of spacing makes it difficult to organize the content into paragraphs that make sense in other languages.
Regional Use of the Language
The Khmer language has a variety of dialects, each having its unique pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. French and other language influences can be heard in a few of the languages. AI translation can’t find the many dialects. It also can’t adapt to these dialects in both the source and target languages.
Slangs and Idioms
The Khmer language contains a variety of cultural nuances, idioms, and phrases that AI is unable to correctly translate. For instance, the phrase (Kromm) may denote either “goblin” or “dirty nose” depending on the context. The intended meaning or tone of the speaker or writer may not be translated accurately by AI.
Terminology
Many technical or specialized terms used in Khmer may not be easily translated into other languages. For instance, it may be necessary to explain or transliterate certain scientific terminology that do not have a Khmer counterpart. AI translation may not have the knowledge or abilities to deal with such terms.
