Kaizen is a systematic strategy to continual improvement. The six stages of the kaizen process are as follows:

  • Identify a problem or opportunity
  • Analyze the process
  • Develop an optimal solution
  • Implement the solution
  • Study the results and adjust
  • Standardize the solution

Identify a problem or opportunity

Analyze the process

After identifying the problem or opportunity, you must study the process to determine what is causing the problem. This might entail acquiring data, speaking with staff, or watching the process in action.

Develop an optimal solution

Implement the solution
