Definition: It is a combination of a noun and its modifiers and functions as a subject. Notice examples below for your future understanding.

Ex: A black cat lays on the table. (A black cat is a noun phrase.)
Ex: Two beautiful girls stand right in front of you. (Two beautiful girls is a noun phrase as a subject.)

Noun Phrase as an Object

Definition: It is a combination of a noun and its modifiers and functions as an object. Notice examples below for your future understanding.

Ex: Rotana has read a well-recommended book from Mr. Ouk Van Day. (a well-recommended book is a noun phrase as an object.)
Ex: David shares his own thought about the project. (his own thought is a noun phrase as an object.)

Noun Phrase as a Prepositional Object

Definition: It is a combination of a noun and its modifiers. This combination stands after a preposition like in, on, at, in front of, etc. Notice examples below for your future understanding.

Noun Phrase as a Participle

Definition: It is a combination of words which start with a participle. This particle can be a present participle (Gerund). However past participle (V3) cannot be used as a noun phrase. Notice examples below for your future understanding.

Noun Phrase as an Absolute Phrase to a Subject

Definition: It is a combination of a noun and its modifiers. It is an omitted form of relative clause and stands after a noun. Notice examples below for your future understanding.
